[Mia had been taken entirely off guard by her abduction. It was so insane, happening in broad daylight like this. She'd just been working the docks, doing her duty as a clerk for the harbormaster, except when she'd gone to check this woman and her crew out of the berth they'd been moored at, she'd been snatched up as they left. It was...the nerve...of this group of vagabonds!

She'd lashed out verbally more than physically, since she was hardly a fighter, but she had decidedly done her fair share of kicking and screaming and flailing. It hadn't worked, if her predicament was any indicator, but she had still tried.
